Of the ten men of the crew, only one — the pilot Orgene Colvin — survived, taken prisoner. The other nine lost their lives.Am 20. Dopo oltre un decennio di ricerche, l'associazione «Quello che le montagne restituiscono» ha ricostruito la vicenda di quella missione, ritrovato parti dell'aereo e oggetti personali, e riportato alla luce le storie dei dieci aviatori. Questa sezione raccoglie quel lavoro: la rotta della missione, l'abbattimento, le testimonianze, i documenti d'archivio e la memoria delle famiglie, fino alla cerimonia di posa della targa commemorativa del 6 settembre 2025.After more than a decade of research, the association “Quello che le montagne restituiscono” has reconstructed the story of that mission, recovered parts of the aircraft and personal effects, and brought back to light the stories of the ten airmen. This section gathers that work: the mission route, the downing, the eyewitness accounts, the archival documents and the families' memory, up to the unveiling of the commemorative plaque on 6 September 2025.Nach über einem Jahrzehnt der Forschung hat der Verein „Quello che le montagne restituiscono" die Geschichte dieses Einsatzes rekonstruiert, Teile des Flugzeugs und persönliche Gegenstände geborgen und die Geschichten der zehn Flieger wieder ans Licht gebracht. Dieser Bereich fasst diese Arbeit zusammen: die Einsatzroute, den Abschuss, die Augenzeugenberichte, die Archivdokumente und das Gedenken der Familien — bis hin zur Enthüllung der Gedenktafel am 6. September 2025.
